Sixteen employees from M.C. Dean’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) team recently participated in AVO Training Institute’s Medium Voltage (MV) course to prepare for the National Cable Splicing Certification Board (NCSCB) MV cable splicing certification exam.

The course included a blend of theoretical and practical training, such as heat shrink methods.

This four-and-a-half-day intensive prep course took place at M.C. Dean’s Modular Mission Critical™ facility, focusing on essential techniques, safety protocols, and best practices required for effective medium voltage cable splicing.

Certifications for high demand skills serve as career steps for employees while expanding M.C. Dean services provided to customers. E&C sponsored employees for the training, covering the class and associated fees.

“I’m incredibly proud of this group for stepping up to the challenge to earn this rigorous certification,” said Mike Keatley, M.C. Dean senior vice president of E&C. “Investing in our team’s development not only enhances their skills but ensures we are prepared to scale with customers and continue to deliver outstanding work.”

The MV cable splicing exam took place at M.C. Dean’s Tysons Headquarters in July, with results coming later in the summer. All M.C. Dean employees are encouraged to challenge themselves in coursework and certifications that further their careers.
