Leadership presenting operational excellence concepts, activities, and successes during employee luncheon.

M.C. Dean promoted our operational excellence program with new personal protection equipment (PPE) uniforms during a facility wide luncheon event.

This marked a significant step in differentiating Modular Mission Critical™ as a manufacturing facility while emphasizing the role employees play in the company’s growth. The event served to introduce manufacturing employees to operational excellence concepts, reinforce how activities impact daily work, and celebrate achievements already realized.

“Our success depends on everyone embracing continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for waste elimination, and committing to safer, smarter ways of working,” said Kevin Douglas, M.C. Dean vice president of operational excellence.

Lean improvements resulted in a 75% increase in production rate and 83% improvement in quality on this product line.

“When employees take ownership in these new processes, they help drive change and shape the future of our business,” said Terry Casey, M.C. Dean senior vice president of manufacturing. “We are excited about the impact on our production and ability to improve service to customers.”

Employees received operational excellence branded uniforms, including new bump caps, safety vests, gloves, and glasses—all designed to improve comfort, safety, and mobility on the job. The new safety gear also distinguishes our manufacturing work from construction work on project sites.

Our operational excellence program was established to implement lean principles across all manufacturing lines to meet growing mission critical customer demands. Ongoing lean implementations include improvements upstream in engineering and downstream in construction.
